Accessibility statement
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 AA on every page of this site.
Conformance
The Shallon Fadlien studio website is designed and tested to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We treat accessibility as part of the craft of the work, not as an afterthought.
What we do
- Every image carries descriptive alt text reflecting the title, medium, year, and visual content of the work.
- All interactive elements (links, buttons, form fields, sliders) are reachable by keyboard with a visible focus ring.
- Colour contrast meets or exceeds the 4.5:1 ratio for body text and 3:1 for large text.
- The site respects
prefers-reduced-motion: hero auto-rotation, marquee scrolling, and ambient animations all stop when a visitor opts out. - Headings follow a logical, single-H1 hierarchy on every page.
- Forms label every field, announce validation errors, and use semantic HTML controls.
- The site is responsive at common phone, tablet, and desktop widths, with touch targets of at least 44 × 44 pixels.
Known limitations
We are continuing to improve. Current areas under active work:
- Pinch-to-zoom on artwork detail pages (currently mouse-wheel and arrow-key zoom only).
- Audio descriptions for embedded studio video clips.
Reporting
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on the site, please write to Shallonfadlien@gmail.com with a short description of the issue and the page URL. We aim to respond within 48 hours.
